The Long-Awaited High School Day Celebration

        Despite the fact that 3 years ago this event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, people have eagerly looked forward to it happening again. After all, there was so much preparation they had done back then, they wouldn't want to miss the chance. Only people who don't understand how much effort and work it took would think this is a waste of time. "Now then, what is the high school day all about?", you may ask. Let me explain.

        It is a yearly celebration done around the end of the school year which consists of performances of different kinds. Students, teachers, and other members of the school staff, put in as much ability into their work as they can to be able to give their very best during the event itself. They wear costumes, create props, sing, dance, and rehearse a lot. As I have said earlier, so much is put into the creation of performances in this yearly event, which had upset a lot of people for having their time, energy, efforts, and practice all to waste when it was cancelled.

        For this year's celebration, the theme is "Renewed Commitment in Defying Odds to Transcend Heights of Excellence and Solidarity". The beginning of it all is of course, a Thanksgiving Mass, followed later by the Teachers' Choir singing the National Anthem, Region 1 Hymn, Ilocos Sur Hymn, Vigan City Hymn, and ISNHS Hymn. Speeches were made, awards were given, and the morning events ended with a closing song.

        During the afternoon, after a speech or two, there was a field demonstration, which consisted of Calisthenics and Festival Dances. There were also traditional games facilitated by FEC officers and SSG officers had facilitated different booths to entertain the attendees of the event. After words of gratitude were given by the Head Teacher of the MAPEH Department, the event comes to an end.
